Major summit to bring together African leaders and Indian officials to strengthen strategic partnership and expand cooperation across sectors.

India will host the Fourth India-Africa Forum Summit (IAFS-IV) on May 31, 2026, in New Delhi, in collaboration with the African Union Commission. The summit will bring together leaders from across the African continent, along with representatives of regional organizations, to strengthen the long-standing India-Africa partnership and outline a roadmap for future cooperation.

The External Affairs Minister of India, Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, unveiled the official logo, theme, and website of the summit on April 23, 2026, in New Delhi. The theme of the summit is “IA SPIRIT: India Africa Strategic Partnership for Innovation, Resilience, and Inclusive Transformation,” reflecting the broad and evolving nature of cooperation between India and African nations.

In preparation for the summit, key meetings will be held, including the India-Africa Foreign Ministers’ Meeting on May 29, 2026, and a Senior Officials Meeting on May 28, 2026. These discussions will focus on important areas of collaboration such as development, trade, capacity building, and technology.

The India-Africa Forum Summit serves as a vital platform for dialogue between India and African countries, guided by shared values of mutual respect, equality, solidarity, and shared prosperity. Previous editions of the summit have led to a significant expansion of India’s development assistance and capacity-building initiatives across Africa.
The upcoming summit is expected to be a landmark event, further strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between India and Africa. It will also reinforce partnerships under the South-South cooperation framework and highlight progress in governance and inclusive development achieved over the past decade.
