Senior diplomats from Lao PDR, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Namibia, and Guinea-Bissau formally assume duties in India at a ceremony in New Delhi.
The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, accepted the credentials of four distinguished envoys during an official ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on April 23, 2026.
The ceremony marked the formal beginning of diplomatic responsibilities for the representatives of their respective nations in India.
Those who presented their credentials were:
- Her Excellency Mrs. Vithaya Xayavong, Ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao People’s Democratic Republic)

- Her Excellency Mrs. Emilie Ayaza Mushobekwa, Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Democratic Republic of the Congo)

- His Excellency Wing Commander Alex Lunyazo Tukuhupwele (Retired), High Commissioner of the Republic of Namibia

- His Excellency Mr. Antonio Serifo Embalo, Ambassador of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau

The presentation of credentials is a key diplomatic process that allows ambassadors and high commissioners to officially represent their countries in the host nation.
