
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held bilateral meetings with the leaders of Denmark, Finland, and Iceland in Oslo, focusing on green partnerships, digital cooperation, innovation, trade, sustainability, and strategic collaboration.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi held separate bilateral meetings with Acting Prime Minister of Denmark H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Finland H.E. Mr. Petteri Orpo, and Prime Minister of Iceland H.E. Ms. Kristrún Frostadóttir on the sidelines of the 3rd India-Nordic Summit in Oslo.



During his meeting with Acting Prime Minister of Denmark H.E. Ms. Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi reviewed progress under the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership launched in 2020. The two leaders welcomed growing cooperation in environment, climate change, green transition, advanced technologies, startups, research, defence, artificial intelligence, and academic exchanges. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also invited Danish companies to establish operations in GIFT City and highlighted India’s readiness to adopt Danish green technologies. Both leaders appreciated cooperation in the Smart Laboratory on Clean Rivers project in Varanasi and discussed mobility partnership and regional developments.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s meeting with Prime Minister of Finland H.E. Mr. Petteri Orpo focused on strengthening the Strategic Partnership in Digitalization and Sustainability. The leaders reviewed cooperation in trade, AI, 5G and 6G technologies, quantum technologies, renewable energy, circular economy, education, mobility, and space cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to doubling bilateral trade by 2030 and announced that India and Finland will jointly host the World Circular Economy Forum in 2026 in Gandhinagar.
In his meeting with Prime Minister of Iceland H.E. Ms. Kristrún Frostadóttir, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi congratulated her on becoming the youngest Prime Minister in Iceland’s history. The leaders discussed expanding cooperation in geothermal energy, fisheries, innovative technologies, tourism, Arctic research, culture, and trade under the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also invited the Icelandic Prime Minister to visit India.
The meetings highlighted India’s growing engagement with Nordic countries in sustainability, innovation, green technology, digital transformation, and global cooperation.
