Indian Naval Ships Tarkash and Ikshak completed their port call at Port Victoria, Seychelles, on 29 June, marking the conclusion of activities that highlighted India’s maritime partnership with Seychelles.
During the visit, the marching contingent and Naval Band from INS Tarkash participated in the National Day Parade on 28 June. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who was present as the Guest of Honour.

The participation reflected the close maritime and defence ties between India and Seychelles, particularly in the Indian Ocean Region.
INS Ikshak hosted more than 300 visitors during the port call. The visit gave local guests an opportunity to view the ship’s hydrographic survey capabilities and learn about the Indian Navy’s role in hydrographic cooperation.

As part of community outreach, the crew of INS Ikshak worked with the High Commission of India in Seychelles to organise a health camp at the English River Home. The crew also distributed first-aid kits and essential supplies to residents.
The Indian Navy said the visit reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation with friendly maritime nations in the Indian Ocean Region.

The deployment was also aligned with the Government of India’s vision of MAHASAGAR, or Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions.
The port call underscored the Indian Navy’s focus on interoperability, capacity building and maritime security. It also reinforced the longstanding friendship and defence partnership between India and Seychelles.
