
Indian Embassy in Jakarta hosts vibrant event showcasing Odisha’s rich cultural heritage.
The Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre (JNICC), under the Embassy of India, Jakarta, in collaboration with Indonesia Odia Samaj, organized the 5th Utkal Diwas celebration on April 11, 2026. The event was held at the Wayang Auditorium in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The celebration featured a variety of cultural performances that highlighted the rich traditions of Odisha. The program included traditional dances, devotional bhajans, and song recitations, offering the audience a glimpse into the vibrant cultural heritage of the Indian state.

A special highlight of the evening was an Odissi classical dance performance by Kumar Bhimsen, a guest artist from India. His performance was well received and added depth to the cultural showcase.
The event was graced by the presence of Sandeep Chakravorty and Madam Taruna Chakravorty, whose participation made the celebration more meaningful.

The Utkal Diwas event reflected the strong cultural ties between India and Indonesia and served as a platform to promote Indian heritage abroad, especially the traditions of Odisha.
