
India’s envoy underscores economic growth and bilateral cooperation at Columbia India Economy Summit 2026.
India’s Ambassador to the United States, H.E. Vinay Mohan Kwatra, delivered a special address at the Columbia India Economy Summit 2026 held at Columbia University in the United States. The summit, organized by the Raj Center on Indian Economic Policies, brought together experts and policymakers to discuss India’s economic trajectory.
During his address, Ambassador Kwatra highlighted India’s governance reforms over the past decade, noting improvements in transparency, ease of doing business, and the development of digital public infrastructure. He emphasized that these reforms have played a key role in strengthening India’s economic foundation.

Speaking on the theme “The Quest for a Developed India,” he described India’s economic growth journey as a major opportunity for international partners. He underlined that the United States remains “front and centre” among India’s most important global partnerships, reflecting the depth of India–U.S. cooperation across sectors.
Ambassador Kwatra also appreciated the leadership of Arvind Panagariya for organizing a thoughtful and impactful summit that fostered meaningful dialogue on India’s economic future.
The event highlighted the growing importance of India–U.S. relations and the shared commitment to economic collaboration, innovation, and global development.
