
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetten held discussions with top Dutch business leaders in The Hague on May 16, 2026, focusing on semiconductors, technology, infrastructure, clean energy, logistics and agriculture.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Netherlands Prime Minister Rob Jetten, met with CEOs of leading Dutch companies in The Hague to discuss expanding economic and technological cooperation between India and the Netherlands.

The meeting brought together prominent industry leaders from sectors including semiconductors, logistics, maritime infrastructure, healthcare, clean energy, agriculture, aviation and technology.
Ahead of the meeting, Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Jetten witnessed the signing of an agreement between ASML and Tata Electronics to support India’s first front-end semiconductor fabrication facility in Dholera.

The two leaders welcomed the partnership and described it as a major step toward strengthening India’s semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
During the discussions, business leaders presented their strategies for India across three major sectors — semiconductors, technology and innovation; infrastructure, logistics and maritime; and sustainability, energy and agriculture.
Prime Minister Modi welcomed the growing business-to-business engagement between India and the Netherlands and highlighted the increasing interest of Dutch companies in India’s rapidly growing economy.

He emphasized the Government of India’s reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business and creating a stable, efficient and predictable policy environment for investors.
Shri Modi encouraged Dutch companies to explore opportunities in sectors such as maritime development, renewable energy, digital technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence and healthcare.
The two Prime Ministers also called for the early implementation of the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement, stating that the agreement would strengthen India and the European Union as trusted and reliable economic partners committed to resilient supply chains and inclusive growth.
Industry leaders appreciated India’s reform agenda and expressed interest in expanding their business presence and investments in India.
The CEOs who participated in the meeting represented several globally recognised Dutch companies, including APM Terminals, Damen Shipyards Group, Heineken, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, NXP Semiconductors, Philips, Port of Rotterdam, Prosus, Royal Vopak and Van Oord among others.
The meeting highlighted the growing strategic and economic partnership between India and the Netherlands, particularly in technology, manufacturing, sustainability and infrastructure development.
