
High-level talks in New Delhi focus on trade, technology, and strategic collaboration between India and Russia.
First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Denis Manturov, visited India on April 02–03, 2026, to co-chair the India–Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC).
During the visit, Denis Manturov held a bilateral meeting with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on April 02 in New Delhi. The discussions covered areas such as trade, industry, energy, fertilizers, connectivity, and mobility. Both sides also discussed opportunities in technology, innovation, and critical minerals.
The two sides reviewed the progress made on decisions taken during the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit held in December 2025.
Denis Manturov called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the visit. In a post on X, the Prime Minister said he was pleased to meet Manturov and noted that discussions focused on cooperation in trade, fertilizers, connectivity, and people-to-people ties. He also referred to ongoing efforts by both sides to implement the outcomes of the summit held during the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India in December last year.
Manturov also met Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval.
Both sides exchanged views on regional and global developments, including the situation in West Asia.
The visit is part of ongoing engagement between India and Russia through regular consultations and institutional mechanisms.
