Major infrastructure and energy projects aim to boost connectivity, growth, and opportunities in Vav-Tharad and nearby regions.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, addressed a large public gathering in Vav-Tharad in Banaskantha district, where he inaugurated, laid foundation stones, and dedicated to the nation development projects worth more than ₹20,000 crore for North Gujarat.
The visit took place after the conclusion of Navratri and on the occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Jayanti. The Prime Minister paid respects to Maa Ambaji and Bhagwan Shri Dharanidharji, highlighting the cultural importance of the region.

Highlighting the significance of the projects, the Prime Minister said these initiatives will improve connectivity and support socio-economic development across North Gujarat. He emphasized that infrastructure development plays a key role in connecting villages to markets, farmers to new opportunities, and youth to employment.
The Prime Minister expressed happiness at landing at Deesa Airbase, noting its importance for both development and regional connectivity. He said the project will open new opportunities and strengthen the region’s growth.
Focusing on energy, Shri Modi highlighted Gujarat’s rapid progress in solar power and renewable energy. He said the state is moving steadily toward becoming a major global center for renewable energy, with large-scale projects like the Khavda Renewable Energy Park contributing significantly.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the “Gujarat Model,” which balances infrastructure growth with welfare schemes. He highlighted that development is not only about roads and highways but also about improving the quality of life for citizens, including housing and basic facilities.

Recalling the transformation of North Gujarat, he noted that the region has overcome past challenges and is now moving forward with new opportunities in agriculture, industry, and infrastructure. He added that continued trust from local governance to national leadership will ensure sustained growth.
The Prime Minister also pointed out that while many countries face global challenges, India continues to maintain stability and move forward on the path of development every day. He said the newly launched projects reflect this commitment to progress and nation-building.
