UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited India at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, strengthening bilateral ties.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, visited India on 19 January 2026 at the invitation of Narendra Modi. This marked his third official visit to India as President and his fifth visit over the past decade.

The visit followed a series of recent high-level exchanges, including the visits of Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in September 2024 and Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in April 2025.
India and the UAE maintained strong political, cultural, and economic ties. The two nations were top trading and investment partners, supported by the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the Local Currency Settlement (LCS) system, and the Bilateral Investment Treaty. They also had a robust energy partnership with long-term supply arrangements.

The visit allowed both leaders to expand the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest.
