During the State Visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius, Dr. The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam, to India at the invitation of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the following outcomes were announced:
Signed MoUs/Agreements
- MoU on Cooperation in Science and Technology between the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Science and Research, Republic of Mauritius.
- MoU between Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR–NIO), India and Mauritius Oceanography Institute.
- MoU between Karmayogi Bharat (Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India) and the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Government of Mauritius.
- MoU on Cooperation in the Power Sector between the two governments.
- MoU regarding Indian Grant Assistance for Implementation of Phase II of Small Development Projects in Mauritius.
- Renewal of the MoU in the Field of Hydrography.
- Agreement on Cooperation for Establishment of a Telemetry, Tracking and Telecommunications (TTT) Station for Satellites and Launch Vehicles, and Cooperation in Space Research, Science and Applications.
Key Announcements
- MoU between Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and University of Mauritius, Réduit.
- MoU between Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), Bengaluru and University of Mauritius.
- Agreement in principle to take forward the Government-to-Government (G2G) proposal for setting up a 17.5 MW Floating Solar PV Project at Tamarind Falls, with a team from NTPC Ltd. to visit Mauritius shortly for finalisation with the Central Electricity Board (CEB).
