Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Union Budget 2026 is ambitious, youth-focused, and key to India’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared his remarks on Union Budget 2026 through a video message on Saturday in New Delhi.
The Prime Minister described the budget as historic and said it reflects the empowered spirit of India’s women. He congratulated Nirmala Sitharaman for presenting the Union Budget for the ninth consecutive time, calling it a new national record.
Shri Modi said the budget is the foundation of India’s journey towards a Viksit Bharat by 2047. He noted that it will give fresh energy and momentum to India’s “Reform Express” and strengthen trust-based and human-centric governance. He added that the budget focuses on reducing fiscal deficit and controlling inflation, while ensuring high capital expenditure and strong economic growth.
The Prime Minister said India is not satisfied with being the fastest-growing economy and is determined to become the world’s third-largest economy. He stated that this reflects the collective resolve of 140 crore Indians. He also highlighted India’s growing role as a trusted democratic partner and global supplier.
Shri Modi said the budget presents an ambitious roadmap to accelerate Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. He highlighted strong support for sunrise sectors such as semiconductors, biopharma, electronics manufacturing, textiles, rare earths, and critical minerals. He said this support will help MSMEs and cottage industries grow from local to global.
The Prime Minister noted major steps to strengthen infrastructure, including freight corridors, waterways, high-speed rail, development of tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and promotion of municipal bonds. He said these steps will speed up India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation.
Calling it a “Yuva Shakti” budget, Shri Modi said the provisions will nurture leaders, innovators, and creators across sectors. He highlighted opportunities in healthcare, the orange economy, gaming, tourism, sports, and data centers, and said the budget will boost employment, especially for youth.
He also stressed that women-led self-help groups are a priority in this budget, with the aim of ensuring prosperity in every household. He said new hostels for girl students in every district will improve access to education.
On agriculture, dairy, and fisheries, the Prime Minister said special measures have been announced for farmers and rural entrepreneurs. He concluded by saying that Union Budget 2026 is ambitious, future-ready, and addresses the aspirations of the nation.
