Prime Minister highlights the initiative’s role in driving innovation, job creation, and India’s journey towards self-reliance.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today marked the 11th anniversary of the Make in India initiative, calling it a milestone in India’s economic transformation and entrepreneurial growth.
Responding to a post by MyGovIndia on social media platform X, the Prime Minister recalled the vision behind the programme, launched on this day in 2014. “11 years ago on this day, the Make in India initiative was launched with a vision to add momentum to India’s growth and tap into our nation’s entrepreneurial potential,” he wrote.
Shri Modi said the initiative has strengthened India’s economy and laid the foundation for Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India). He added that Make in India has spurred innovation and created jobs across multiple sectors, reflecting its transformative impact on the nation’s growth journey.
The initiative, which focuses on promoting domestic manufacturing and attracting investment, has over the past decade helped India become a global hub in industries such as mobile phone production, defence, and digital services.
