Prime Minister Narendra Modi held discussions with top Malaysian industry leaders, encouraging greater investment and business collaboration with India.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with leading business leaders of Malaysia to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries.
During the interaction, the Prime Minister met Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik, President and Group CEO of PETRONAS; Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun, Founder of Berjaya Corporation Berhad; Dato’ Amirul Feisal Wan Zahir, Managing Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad; and Dato’ Pua Khein Seng, Founder of Phison Electronics.
The Prime Minister appreciated the growing business-to-business links between India and Malaysia. He noted the strong interest shown by Malaysian companies in India’s growth story and highlighted the reforms and initiatives undertaken in recent years to improve ease of doing business. He said India now offers a stable, efficient, and predictable policy and business environment.
He encouraged Malaysian businesses to explore opportunities in India, especially in infrastructure, renewable energy, digital technology, semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and healthcare. In this context, the Prime Minister welcomed the convening of the 10th India–Malaysia CEO Forum in Kuala Lumpur on 07 February 2026 and expressed confidence that the discussions would further deepen trade and investment ties between the two countries.
The industry leaders praised the reforms undertaken by the Government of India towards building a Viksit Bharat. They expressed strong confidence in India’s long-term growth prospects and conveyed their interest in expanding investments in India, including through joint ventures with Indian partners.
