PM highlights India’s self-reliance, GST reforms, and UP’s growing role in manufacturing, defence, and investment.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show in Greater Noida, extending greetings to over 2,200 exhibitors, traders, investors, and entrepreneurs participating in the event. Russia is the partner country for this year’s edition. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ministers of the Uttar Pradesh government, and senior leaders were present at the inauguration.
Addressing the gathering, PM Modi said the occasion coincides with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, who showed the path of Antyodaya—uplifting the last person in the queue. He said India is now presenting this inclusive model of development to the world.
The Prime Minister cited India’s global leadership in digital platforms such as UPI, Aadhaar, DigiLocker, ONDC, and the PM SVANidhi scheme, calling them “Platforms for All, Progress for All.” He also highlighted the success of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), where the government has procured goods and services worth ₹15 lakh crore, including ₹7 lakh crore from MSMEs.
PM Modi emphasized the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, urging entrepreneurs to adopt business models that strengthen self-reliance. “Every product that can be made in India must be produced in India,” he said, while also stressing that there should be no compromise on quality in domestic manufacturing.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s potential, he pointed to the state’s growing connectivity, leading number of expressways and airports, and its role in electronics and mobile production. He said nearly 55 percent of India’s mobile phones are now made in UP, and a major semiconductor facility near Noida will soon begin operations.
On defence manufacturing, PM Modi said India is developing a strong ecosystem where every component carries the mark of “Made in India.” He noted that production of AK-203 rifles with Russian collaboration will soon begin in UP, alongside the Defence Corridor where BrahMos missiles and other systems are being manufactured.
The Prime Minister also underlined the benefits of recent next-generation GST reforms, which simplify registration, reduce disputes, and speed up refunds. He explained with examples how GST has reduced the tax burden for families, farmers, and small traders, calling the reforms “structural changes that give new wings to India’s growth story.” He described the savings for households, farmers buying tractors, and workers purchasing vehicles, and declared the celebrations as the GST Savings Festival.
PM Modi concluded by inviting global investors to India and Uttar Pradesh. He said India offers a unique combination of political stability, skilled workforce, and a dynamic young consumer base, making it the world’s most attractive investment destination. “Investing in India, and in Uttar Pradesh, is a win-win situation,” he said, extending best wishes for the success of the trade show.
