PM Modi highlights India’s growth, calls for self-reliance, and praises UP’s role in manufacturing and investment.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and addressed the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show 2025 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, today. The event saw the participation of over 2,200 exhibitors, with Russia as the partner country. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and several dignitaries were also present.
The Prime Minister emphasized India’s inclusive development model, citing digital platforms like UPI, Aadhaar, DigiLocker, and ONDC as examples of “Platforms for All, Progress for All.” He noted that these systems empower everyone, from large businesses to street vendors. He also highlighted the success of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), where MSMEs and small traders have made sales worth ₹7 lakh crore out of a total procurement of ₹15 lakh crore.
Speaking on economic growth, PM Modi said that “despite global disruptions and uncertainty, India’s growth remains remarkable.” He reiterated the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), urging entrepreneurs to adopt business models that strengthen domestic production. He stressed that every product that can be made in India should be produced within the country, with no compromise on quality.
The Prime Minister also pointed to Uttar Pradesh’s role in India’s progress, noting its leading position in expressways, international airports, heritage tourism, and electronics manufacturing. He said UP now produces nearly 55 percent of India’s mobile phones and will soon play a major role in the semiconductor sector.
Highlighting defence production, PM Modi mentioned that UP is home to the Defence Corridor and factories producing AK-203 rifles and BrahMos missiles. “We are creating an ecosystem where every component bears the mark of ‘Made in India,’” he said.
On taxation, PM Modi explained the benefits of GST reforms, which he described as “structural changes giving new wings to India’s growth story.” He said GST has reduced the burden on families, farmers, and small traders, bringing significant savings on essentials, vehicles, and farm equipment. The Prime Minister declared this year as a “GST Savings Festival,” noting that citizens will save ₹2.5 lakh crore.
He concluded by calling on investors to seize India’s opportunities, stating that India’s democratic stability, skilled workforce, and young population make it the most attractive destination for growth. “Investing in India, and in Uttar Pradesh in particular, is a win-win situation,” he affirmed.
