A ministerial delegation from Singapore, led by H.E. Mr. Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, called on the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on August 13, 2025. The delegation is in New Delhi for the third meeting of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR).

Welcoming the delegation, President Murmu highlighted that despite global uncertainties, the India-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership continues to grow. She recalled the State Visit of President Tharman Shanmugaratnam earlier this year, which marked the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations. She emphasized that regular high-level engagements, including the ISMR, provide strong momentum to bilateral relations.
The President also praised Singapore for its firm stand against terrorism in the wake of the recent attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. She underlined Singapore’s role as a key partner in India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision, and Indo-Pacific Vision.

India and Singapore share strong ties across trade, investment, defence, culture, education, and people-to-people exchanges. President Murmu noted with satisfaction that cooperation is now expanding into new areas such as skilling, green economy, and FinTech, adding fresh dimensions to the partnership.
