The Department of Commerce and its organizations launched the Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 campaign with widespread cleanliness drives across the country. From New Delhi to Ernakulam, Guntur, and Kolkata, employees, officials, and students joined hands to promote cleanliness and public hygiene in line with the vision of a cleaner and greener India.






The Department of Commerce initiated the Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 campaign with active participation from its employees and affiliated organizations. At Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, officials and staff cleaned the pathway outside the premises, while the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) organized a similar cleanliness drive at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi. In Kolkata, the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCIS) undertook clean-up activities at public and high-footfall areas.
The campaign extended to other states as well. The Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) carried out a cleanliness activity at the Government Fisheries School, Thevara, Ernakulam, with participation from officials, teachers, and students. Similarly, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organized a drive at its office premises.
Special Economic Zones (SEZs) also played a key role in the campaign. Cochin SEZ conducted a drive at MAAM Govt. LP School, Kakkanad; Kandla SEZ organized activities in surrounding areas; and companies at Indore SEZ joined in cleaning public spaces.
The Export Inspection Agency (EIA), Kochi, cleaned its office premises and the Panampilly Walkway, while EIA Mumbai conducted cleanliness drives at nearby gardens. The Spices Board, Guntur, cleared its premises of garbage accumulated due to flooding, while the Tobacco Board, Guntur, organized a similar drive at its Head Office. MMTC Limited also carried out a cleanliness drive at its office premises in Delhi.
Other organizations, including the Directorate General of Trade Remedies, Rubber Board, Coffee Board, Tea Board, Indian Institute of Packaging, Visakhapatnam SEZ, Falta SEZ, SEEPZ SEZ Mumbai, MEPZ Madras, and the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), actively participated in the campaign.
The Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 campaign underlines the Department of Commerce’s commitment to creating cleaner surroundings and contributing to the nationwide movement for sanitation and environmental care.
